Non Binding Bolt Tightening Torques Nm

Wrench Test Torque as per DIN 899 (lowest guaranteed values)
Nm (1 kpm = 10 Nm)
These torques are guidline values for metric standard threads as per DIN 13 and head dimensions as per DIN 912, 931, 934, 6912, 7984 and 7990. They mean using the bolt's limit of elasticity up to 90%. A coefficient of friction of 0.14 (new bolt, with out treatment, unlubricated) was taken as a basis for the calculations.
Note: In extreme cases, such as bolts lubricated with MOS2 paste, abd with connecting elements cadmium plated on both sides, the tightening value should be reduced by approx. 20%

* These sizes are not contained in DIN ISO 272 and should thus be avoided, if possible also the sizes in brackets.

Remark : To allocate the wrench size (sizes between flats) to the bolt diameters based on the various Standards. As for the column "Wrench Test Torques as per DIN 899", it is expressly pointed out that these are minimum guarantee calues.
Bolts from M 39 in the qualities 4.6, 5.6, 6.9, 8.8, 10.9 and 12.9 are not standardised.

Please Note : Socket wrench inserts for manual tightening are unsuitable for use with impact drivers and may cause accidents.
